PAOLA – The Aeronautical Protection Zones Assessment Platform
PAOLA is an innovative web platform developed to simplify the assessment of protection zones and obstacle limitations related to flight trajectories. Accessible even to non-experts, it facilitates the management of aeronautical easements in compliance with international standards.
Context and Challenges
Air safety relies on accurate and timely access to aeronautical data. Authorities, aviation professionals, and non-experts such as urban developers or project managers need to quickly understand and analyze protected zones and obstacle limitations to ensure safe operations and informed decision-making.
Traditional tools were often complex and time-consuming, limiting accessibility for users outside the aviation domain. In close collaboration with CGX AERO, CGX AME developed PAOLA to address these challenges by making aeronautical data easy to access, process, and understand. The platform simplifies the visualization and evaluation of protection zones, enabling faster, more reliable decisions for all stakeholders, regardless of their expertise in aviation.
